Join executive coach and professor Lorne Ellingson of the Department of Indigenous Studies at Trent University in exploring a coaching model based, in part, on Indigenous ways of knowing. Learn more about the model in Lorne's book ‘Conversations that Matter: A Path to Personal and Professional Growth’. This coaching model is comprised of seven conversations and a surrounding conversational environment and is a way for you to both: get to know yourself as a coach and to help clients gain a deeper knowledge of who they are, where they want to get to and how they want to get there. The model provides insights into the unique process of ‘slow coaching’ that focuses as much on taking the journey skillfully as it does on achieving predetermined goals. From the session you will take a visual, intellectual and the beginnings of an experiential understanding of one way of participating in the coaching journey. You will also be provided with specific tools and techniques for engaging in each of the conversations.
